Maharashtra: There are signs of a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. There may be a big split in the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) led by senior leader Sharad Pawar. Speculation is rife that Sharad Pawar's close aide may soon join the faction of his nephew and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Though there was no immediate reaction from Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Shirsat hinted at a possible change.
According to reports, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat has claimed that NCP (SP) state president Jayant Patil may soon join Ajit Pawar's faction. Sanjay Shirsat said that I have said this before. Jayant Patil is in no mood to stay in the NCP (SP) for long. Soon there will be a big earthquake in Sharad Pawar's party. In fact, Jayant Patil is considered to be Sharad Pawar's most trusted aide. In such a situation, if he goes to Ajit Pawar's camp, it can prove to be a big setback for Sharad Pawar.
Recently, Jayant Patil had said in a statement that nothing is certain about his future. Since this statement, the discussions of leaving the party have intensified. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar had also expressed the possibility of his anger. "Jayant Patil is the state chief of the NCP (SP) and it is clear that he has been unhappy for the last few days.
NCP leader Hasan Mushrif also said that Jayant Patil is unhappy and knows that it will not be easy to do politics with NCP (SP). Senior NCP leader Supriya Sule said that despite the organisation having such a big strength, some people felt the need for Jayant Patil.
