Shamli: Police officers caught drinking on duty, viral VIDEO sparks investigation

A viral video shows three police officers drinking alcohol at the Shamli Dial 112 office, prompting an investigation led by ASP Santosh Singh. The video, allegedly filmed by another officer and posted on X, depicts both uniformed and non-uniformed officers.

New Delhi: A video from the Shamli Dial 112 office is going viral on social media, showing three police officers, two in uniform one in casual dress, sitting and drinking alcohol. After the video went viral, the SP handed over the investigation to the ASP, and ordered to take further action based on the findings.

How did the incident unfold?

On Wednesday, a video purportedly from the Shamli Dial 112 office went viral on social media. In the video, the in-charge of Dial 112 and a constable are seen sitting in uniform, while another officer is sitting without a uniform.

The video of the officers drinking was reportedly made by another police officer and posted on X. Following its circulation on X, SP Ram Sevak Gautam assigned the investigation to ASP Santosh Singh. ASP Santosh Singh stated that the investigation has commenced, and statements from other police officers at the Dial 112 office will also be recorded.

However, Top India News was unable to verify if the was an authentic video or not and hence does not hold accountability. Hindustan does not confirm the authenticity of this video.

This isn't an isolated incident in India. Earlier this month, a video sparked outrage after it showed a man in police custody drinking alcohol inside a police van in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
