New Delhi: The first monsoon rain in Delhi-NCR wreaked havoc on Friday morning, affecting both common citizens and prominent figures, including political leaders residing in upscale areas. Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav faced a challenging start to his day when his residence was flooded due to the heavy downpour.Waterlogging near his house The incident unfolded as Ram Gopal Yadav prepared to leave for Parliament amidst the ongoing session. His house became inundated with rainwater, forcing his staff to carry him in their arms to reach his car safely. I had to undergo all this just to reach Parliament. We managed to get into the car after being lifted by people, he remarked. He criticized the NDMCs inefficiency in maintaining drainage systems, emphasizing that despite repeated complaints to NDMC officials since early morning, no adequate measures were taken to pump out the water.Need of cleaning of drains The entire bungalow is submerged, causing substantial financial losses as we had recently renovated the flooring, Yadav lamented. He pointed out the critical need for regular cleaning of choked drains to prevent such situations in the future.Same condition everywhereHighlighting the gravity of the situation, Yadav noted that neighboring residences, including those of high-ranking officials and ministers, were similarly affected.
