Amidst the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress party, is touring the nation campaigning for the party. There are just three stages left in the campaign, and politicians are working harder to win over voters. A lighthearted scene occurred on Monday during Rahul Gandhi's rally in Raebareli, in the midst of intense election rallies, when a member of the audience inquired about his plans for marriage.

Shaadi kab?

Rahul was asked to respond to Priyanka's pointed inquiry about a man in the crowd. Rahul asks, "Kya sawal h," with a smile. Rahul said, "Ab jaldi he karni padegi (Now, I will have to get married soon)" in response to questions from the audience about when he would be married, as he grinned and answered.

Rahul honored his grandmother and former prime minister, Indira Gandhi, with a heartfelt post before leaving for Rae Bareli. On May 3, the Congress declared Rahul from Raebareli and loyalist KL Sharma from Amethi as its candidates, eliminating Priyanka and Vadra from the race. Rahul was defeated by Union Minister Smriti Irani in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and now Sharma faces her.

Rahul's polls this year

Rahul has represented the Amethi seat in Parliament since 2004 and served as the constituency's representative until 2019. From 1981 until his passing in 1991, Rajiv Gandhi, his father and the previous prime minister, was an elected member of the Lower House, representing Amethi. Before handing the reins to Rahul in 2004, Sonia Gandhi ran for and won Amethi in 1999. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had won Raebareli three times prior to Sonia.

Rae Bareli and Congress

In 1952 and 1957, the constituency also elected Feroze Gandhi, the Congress leader and spouse of Indira. In Rae Bareli will take on BJP MLC Dinesh Pratap Singh, a Congress defector and three-time MLC. The fifth phase of elections in the Rae Bareli constituency takes place on May 20. Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi won the seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections with 5,34,918 votes. Dinesh Pratap Singh, her nearest opponent, mounted a strong fight, receiving 3,67,740 votes.
