New Delhi: A tense and deadly encounter unfolded in Hadipora village of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. The clash between security forces and two terrorists ended with the deaths of both terrorists. The confrontation began when security forces, acting on intelligence inputs, initiated a meticulously planned search operation to locate terrorists believed to be hiding in the area.

The tranquility of Hadipora was shattered as the forces moved in, triggering a fierce gunfight. Inspector General of Police VK Birdi confirmed, "Two bodies are seen at the encounter site. Both the terrorists have been killed. Their identity is yet to be ascertained."

Security tensions rise ahead of high-profile visit

A violent encounter erupted in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district just a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Srinagar. This visit marks Modi's first trip to the Union Territory since his third inauguration on June 9. On Friday, he will join the International Yoga Day celebrations, set against the scenic backdrop of Dal Lake in the heart of Srinagar. This incident is part of a series of recent encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM reviews security situation in Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a review meeting last week to evaluate the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir following four encounters between security forces and terrorists over the past four days.

In discussions with Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Prime Minister Modi received a comprehensive briefing on the Union Territory's security dynamics and the counter-terrorism measures being implemented by the armed forces.

According to reports, Prime Minister has directed authorities to fully utilize the armed forces' counter-terrorism capabilities. He also discussed with Shah the deployment of security forces and the ongoing counter-terror operations.
