Security breach in London: India expects action after Khalistani extremist’s move

The pro-Khalistan extremist succeeded in penetrating security barriers while S Jaishankar's convoy passed by to destroy the Indian flag.

India strongly urged attention to the security failure during external affairs minister S Jaishankar's official trip to the United Kingdom which took place on Thursday. The pro-Khalistan extremist broke through the security barriers to destroy the Indian flag during the ministerial motorcade. A video recorded the incident which has spread throughout the Internet.

The Ministry of External Affairs condemned through strong statements the extremist group's defiant actions. The MEA statement released footage which revealed security breaches that occurred when the External Affairs Minister visited the UK. The ministry strictly denounces the challenging actions performed by extremist separatists and their followers.The Indian government strongly condemned radical elements using their democratic freedoms improperly since these actions work against peaceful communication. India condemns the improper application of democratic freedoms by such perpetrators.

India requires the hosting countries to fulfill their complete diplomatic responsibilities according to their core obligations, stated MEA. The security incident took place on Wednesday evening after Jaishankar finished his talk at the Chatham House in London. A quick-moving man took the chance between police uncertainty to rush the minister's automobile. A protester violated all sense of respect by ripping the Indian national flag in front of the convoy after members of his group shouted pro-Khalistani chants from afar. The police force immediately took charge by moving the extremist person and his other members away from where they were to prevent further actions.
