A shocking crime has rocked Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, where a school owner was gruesomely murdered in broad daylight. The assailants executed the crime while the victim was engaged in a morning yoga session, severing his head from his body with a sharp weapon.
The incident took place in the village of Siluwa, under the jurisdiction of Rampura Police Station. As news of the murder spread, panic ensued in the locality. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive behind the killing was a dispute over a school management committee election.
The deceased, identified as 68-year-old Vidyarama Jatav, had stepped out for his routine morning walk before settling near a bridge outside a primary school for yoga. As he bent forward during his session, the attackers struck his neck with a sharp weapon, completely severing his head from his body. His severed head fell to the ground while his body remained in the yoga posture on the bridge.
Shocked villagers immediately alerted the police and the victim’s family. A forensic team was dispatched to the site for further investigation. Reports indicate that Vidyarama Jatav managed three educational institutions: Seva Niketan School, Bhimrao Junior High School, and Bhimrao Junior Inter College. His wife, Prema Devi, currently serves as the manager of these schools. In 2019, school irregularities led to his removal from management, which fueled conflicts among the stakeholders.
Family members claim that a long-standing rivalry over the school management committee elections led to the brutal killing. The victim had previously removed an individual named Ramkhilawan from the principal’s position, which resulted in ongoing hostility. Allegedly, Ramkhilawan, along with his accomplices, orchestrated the murder as an act of revenge. Besides this feud, Vidyarama had several other disputes concerning the election of the school’s management committee.
The victim’s wife, Prema Devi, firmly believes that her husband was murdered due to this election conflict. Authorities have detained one suspect’s family members for questioning. Circle Officer (CO) Ram Singh stated that an intensive investigation is underway, and the culprits will soon be identified. As of now, no formal complaint has been filed, and the body has been sent for autopsy.
