The Supreme Court on Tuesday has asked Baba Ramdev, Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd MD to place on record apology published in newspapers within two days. The top court further said that the apology should be of the same size as their advertisement. While rejecting the apology, the court has scheduled the next hearing on April 30.

According to the sources, Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Ramdev said that Patanjali has published an apology in the newspaper, but the Supreme Court reprimanded that it has been published yesterday only.

While hearing the case, a bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah were tough on Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna. Justice Kohli asked to them to keep the original newspaper clippings in his hands. Rohtagi said that the apology was published in 67 newspapers at the cost of Rs 10 lakh.

The court was adjourned after Ramdev asked that he will get bigger apology published in the newspaper.

Additionally, the Supreme Court also noted that FMCG businesses were misleading the public by running ads for goods that have an impact on the health of elderly people, babies, and school-age children.

The court also turned heavily on Indian Medical Association (IMA) said that it will look into inflated bills and doctors prescribed expensive medicines.
