Noida News: In a troubling incident in Sector 63 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a young woman has lodged a complaint against her elder sister, alleging that she has been threatened with death over her refusal to marry her sister's brother-in-law. The case has garnered attention, prompting local authorities to initiate an investigation.

Disturbing request

The complaint was filed by a girl who originally hails from a village in Kannauj district. Following the death of her father, she and her mother moved in with her married elder sister. However, tensions escalated when the elder sister expressed her desire for the girl to marry her brother-in-law, a laborer. The young woman, however, has other plans; she is in love with a neighbor from her hometown in Kannauj and had secretly married him without notifying her family.

The victim stated, "I want to further my education after graduation. My husband supports this decision, but my sister is against it. She keeps insisting that I should marry her brother-in-law instead."

What has victim accused in complaint?

In her complaint, the girl described how her sister's persistence had become unbearable. “I told my husband about the situation and even changed my mobile number to avoid her calls. Yet, she somehow managed to find my new number and has been threatening me,” she said. The young woman emphasized that she is already married and pleaded with her sister to accept her situation. However, her sister reportedly refuses to acknowledge her marriage, insisting instead that the girl should consider her brother-in-law.

The situation worsened when the girl recalled instances from her past, saying, “When I stayed at my sister's house, her brother-in-law would repeatedly say ‘I love you’ to me. I protested, but my sister dismissed my concerns.”

Police response

In light of the serious allegations, the police have officially registered a case based on the girl's complaint. Authorities have stated that they will question the elder sister to ascertain the validity of the accusations. "If the girl's claims are substantiated, appropriate action will be taken against her sister," a police spokesperson confirmed.
