This isn’t the first time such reckless acts have been carried out. Earlier in August, a YouTuber named Gulzar Sheikh was arrested for placing objects like bicycles, stones, and other items on railway tracks in the name of content creation.

New Delhi: A major conspiracy to derail the Kasganj Express was thwarted when a tree branch lying on the tracks in Farrukhabad became lodged in the train's engine. The quick response by the train's crew, who stopped the train and removed the obstruction, prevented any accidents. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) reached the scene immediately, initiating an investigation into the incident.

Another man places alloy wheel on rail tracks

In a separate but similar incident, an individual named Afsan has been charged with attempting to derail a train by placing an alloy wheel on the railway tracks. The accused aimed to mimic the tragic Kanpur rail accident that occurred on August 17th. In that case, twenty coaches of the Sabarmati Express derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur after the engine struck an object deliberately placed on the tracks. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that this object caused the derailment.

On Tuesday, August 20th, the Aligarh Railway Police charged Afsan for attempting to derail a train by placing an alloy wheel on the Delhi-Kanpur freight corridor's tracks. This act echoed the earlier Sabarmati Express derailment in Kanpur. Fortunately, due to the prompt vigilance of the railway police, the wheel was removed before it could cause any harm, thereby preventing a potential disaster.

Police investigation underway

According to reports, the incident occurred on the Talaspur railway track near the Roravar police station area. Upon receiving a tip-off, the railway police quickly arrived at the scene and removed the wheel from the tracks. An investigation was immediately launched, with the Roravar police station registering a case based on a complaint filed by the RPF.

Area Officer Abhay Pandey confirmed that three police teams have been deployed to search for the accused, who has since been identified as Afsan. The authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.

Why this reckless content creation streak?

This isn’t the first time such reckless acts have been carried out. Earlier in August, a YouTuber named Gulzar Sheikh was arrested for placing objects like bicycles, stones, and other items on railway tracks in the name of content creation. He would record these dangerous stunts for likes and shares on YouTube, gaining substantial monetary rewards by monetizing the videos.
