Ahead of the highly anticipated consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir, the first visuals of the idol of Ram Lalla (Lord Ram) installed inside the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Griha) of the temple in Ayodhya are now taking rounds on the internet. The giant idol has been covered with a white cloth.
A key ritual was held on Thursday morning ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, with the idol of Ram Lalla installed in the sanctum sanctorum in Ayodhya.
The idol, sculpted by Mysuru artist Arun Yogiraj, was brought to the temple early morning and placed in the innermost sanctum around the afternoon amid chanting of Vedic hymns.
Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Anil Mishra performed the 'Pradhan Sankalp' rite seeking blessings for the nation, humanity, and temple contributors.
Other rituals like providing sacred garments to priests also took place to spiritually prepare the temple for the January 22 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony.
The 51-inch idol will be the main deity worshipped by devotees once the temple opens to the public after the consecration.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the key ceremony along with over 7,000 other dignitaries and saints.
The installation of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum marks a significant milestone in the temple's construction after decades of wait. The rituals aim to imbibe divinity into the new temple ahead of its inauguration.
