‘Sanatan Dharma’ row which was ignited after Tamil Nadu DMK minister and son of MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi used a slang against the Hindu religion and compared it with ‘dengue and malaria.’

Responding to the remarks which has been into headlines since then, Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh Chief minister on Wednesday said Sanatan Dharma is the “Rashtriya” (national) religion” of Bharat which cannot be erased by those who live for power.

The statement from the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh came as a backdrop of the controversial remarks on Sanatan Dharma from the DMK minister. While attacking the TN minister, Yogi Adityanath said that it is unfortunate that some people living in India are still insulting the Sanatan Dharma which has been there since ancient times.

“Sanatan Dharma is the Rashtriya dharma (national religion) of Bharat. No one can question its perpetuity,” the UP chief minister said at the unveiling ceremony of Dhwajstambh (flagstaff) at Nath temple in Indore.

“It is unfortunate that even today, many people living in Bharat are humiliating Sanatan Dharma. They do not miss any opportunity to attack Indian values, ideals and principles,” Adityanath said.

“Even Ravan had also tried to attack the reality of God but what was the result? Ravan was destroyed by his ego,” he said.

Referring to the Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, Yogi Adityanath praised him for proudly flaunting his Hindu identity. Sunak recently visited India to be the part of the G20 Summit.

Adityanath made the statement while addressing the people during his one-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, where he took part in the 228th death anniversary programme of the erstwhile Holkar dynasty ruler Devi Ahilyabai, the unveiling ceremony of the flagstaff of the Nath temple, and the dedication ceremony of the Chhatrapati Shivaji statue site in Indore.
