After India marked a milestone with its successful space mission like Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1, now it is all set to embark on its journey to explore the ocean with Matsya (Hindi for Fish) 6000. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has shared a video and photos of Matsya 6000, calling it Samudrayaan.India now to embark on journey to ocean with Samudrayaan mission- Matsya 6000Notably, it is a man-made submersible that will explore the depths of the ocean as part of the Samudrayaan mission. The vessel is being developed by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT). Once it is commissioned, this will be Indias first manned ocean exploration mission.The spherical vessel will be built underwater journey will be 500 metres. Indias first manned Deep Ocean Mission Samudrayaan plans to send 3 humans to 6-km ocean depth in a submersible, to study the deep sea resources and biodiversity assessment. An expert is also been seen explaining to Rijiju about the Samudrayaan mission – Matsya 6000 and how it works.Samudrayaan will explore the depths of the sea for resources like minerals. In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha earlier this year, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, had said that the mission is expected to be realised by the year 2026.
