The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that the global terror organization ISIS purportedly aimed to attack the BJP office in Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, along with several other districts in the state. Moreover, plans to assassinate multiple Hindu political leaders were allegedly in the works. The ISIS-Al-Hindi Module sleeper cell operating within India reportedly operated these sinister schemes, arranging firearms, ammunition, and SIM cards to execute the planned terror acts.Terror suspects use Telegram ID to contact ISISAccording to reports, Mohammad Zoheb Khan, an apprehended terror suspect, revealed these details during interrogation. Khan allegedly received instructions from his ISIS handler, identified as Abu Ahmed, who provided him with Telegram ID links to contacts known as Anas-Al-Hindi and Anan-Al-Hindi. Khan was instructed to use a specific code, Saman Chahiye, to contact the ISIS sleeper cell and request pistols, ammunition, and SIM cards.Upon following the instructions, Khan communicated with both Telegram IDs, simply sending the code Saman Chahiye. He reportedly received assurances that the requested items would be provided, although Khan claimed that his recent interactions with these IDs were his first and last, with no further communication thereafter.Khan kept eyes on BJP officesThe reports also claimed that Khan was instructed to monitor the movements of BJP offices and leaders, although specific names were not provided by the handler. The NIA is currently conducting technical data analysis to ascertain Khans travel outside Sambhaji Nagar over the past year. The agency is now focused on identifying members of the Al Hindi module sleeper cell responsible for procuring arms and ammunition.Terror suspects take oath of allegianceDuring interrogation, Khan purportedly disclosed his direct contact with ISIS handler Abu Ahmad since 2021. He claimed to have taken the bayah (oath of allegiance) to ISIS Khalifa Abu-Hafs-Al-Qureshi alongside his wife and three children via video call. Khan also revealed his intention to migrate to Syria for Hijrah, following instructions from his handler.Furthermore, Khan confessed to his role in recruiting individuals for ISIS, arranging foot soldiers for reconnaissance operations, fundraising, and planning terror attacks. He allegedly utilized social media platforms to connect with and radicalize individuals, disseminating violent jihadist propaganda.
