Haryana News: In a shocking incident that has sent ripples of horror through Haryana, a 19-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his seven-month pregnant girlfriend and burying her body in a pit. The accused, identified as Sohit, also known as Ritik, is a resident of Sonipat district. This heinous crime has raised serious questions about safety and justice for women in the region.The Disturbing Circumstances Surrounding the Abduction and MurderAccording to police reports, the victim, a 19-year-old woman from Nangloi, Delhi, was reported missing on October 21. Her family filed a complaint after she did not return home. Investigations revealed that her boyfriend, Saleem (alias Sanju), had conspired with Sohit and another accomplice, Pankaj, to abduct her under the guise of eloping. Saleem approached his friends with a sinister plan to eliminate his pregnant partner, an officer stated.On the day of her disappearance, the trio picked her up from her home in a hired car. They drove to Rohtak where they consumed alcohol before committing the atrocity. They strangled her with their bare hands, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satish Kumar. Following the murder, they transported her body to Madina Village in Rohtak and buried it in a shallow grave.Police Investigation Leads to Arrests and ConfessionsThe case took a turn when two of the conspirators were arrested shortly after the incident was reported. However, Sohit managed to evade capture until December 6, when police received a tip-off about his whereabouts. A team set up a trap near Singhasan Banquet in Rohtak and successfully apprehended him. During interrogation, Sohit confessed to his involvement in the planned murder, detailing how they had executed their plot.The police have indicated that this crime was premeditated and driven by Saleems unwillingness to accept fatherhood, as he reportedly wanted Sonia to abort the pregnancy.
