As police investigated, they learned of Sonis romantic connection with a man named “Sanju,” saved as “Bhoot” in her phone. Sonis sister confirmed the relationship, explaining how the two met through Instagram, where Soni even noted I Love Bhoot on her profile. During this time, Soni became pregnant, a revelation that troubled her family initially, but they eventually accepted after her assurances that Sanju would marry her.Arrest and confessionOn October 23, police arrested Salim, who confessed to the murder, citing disputes over the pregnancy. Soni refused to terminate the pregnancy, leading to frequent arguments and ultimately to her tragic death. Police also revealed that Sanju was a fake identity and that Salims real name had been concealed from Sonis family, who had no knowledge of his background.Alongside Salim, police arrested Pankaj, though Ritik remains at large.
