Sabke Ram: As India awaits the most-anticipated consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the final touches are going in full swing. Now, the idol of Ram Lalla was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir in the wee hours of Thursday.

Interestingly, to keep the spiritual belief high, a special puja was held in the sanctum sanctorum before the idol was bright inside with the help of a crane amid chants of ‘Jai Shree Ram.’

Citing Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra, news agency PTI reported that the idol is expected to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

The giant Ram Lalla idol was brought to the temple in a truck.

Elaborate rituals have commenced in Ayodhya leading up to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha on January 22.

A "Kalash Pujan" ceremony was also held on Wednesday as part of the seven-day rituals which will continue till January 21. Only essential rites needed for the Pran Pratishtha idol installation will be conducted on the final day, Ram temple trust officials stated.

121 'acharyas' are overseeing the rituals before the consecration event. The Pran Pratishtha is scheduled to begin at 12:20 PM on January 22 and is expected to conclude by 1 PM.

Preparations have been going on at their heights for the historic occasion, which over 7,000 dignitaries including politicians, businessmen, celebrities, and saints are expected to attend. Prime Minister Modi will be the chief guest.

Nearly 100 overseas guests will also participate in the ceremonies. The idol of Ram Lalla sculpted specially for the sanctum sanctorum by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, has been chosen for the installation.

The week-long Vedic rituals aim to spiritually sanctify the temple ahead of the grand opening.
