While the video has gained widespread attention, it's important to note that this emotional moment was originally recorded in 2021. In the original footage, Ranveer is seen breaking down after testing positive for COVID-19. He expresses his regret for unknowingly putting his team at risk by not taking the necessary precautions. The video was part of a vlog where he shared the struggles of halting his work due to the virus.
The viral video’s connection to the India’s Got Latent controversy stems from Ranveer's appearance on the show, where he made a highly inappropriate comment. During the episode, he asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?" The comment, which was meant to be humorous, sparked outrage among viewers. While co-panelists Samay Raina and Apoorva Mukhija laughed, the audience and online users were quick to slam the Youtuber for making what they considered an obscene and offensive statement.
