Roorkee: Two groups of Kanwariyas clash over DJ, beat each other with sticks

The incident happened at one of the Kanwar camp in Uttarakhand’s Roorkee where the situation escalated and two groups of Kanwariyas chased and beat each other with sticks.

Two groups of Kanwariyas clash (X/SachinGupta)

Some shocking visuals have surfaced on social media which show two groups of Kanwariyas getting involved in an altercation over a DJ that was playing at the Kanwar camp. The incident happened at Uttarakhand’s Roorkee where the situation escalated and they chased and beat each other with sticks.

This is not the first incident that has come to light. Another similar incident surfaced a few days back when some angry kanwariyas beat e-rickshaw driver and vandalized his vehicle after he accidently hit the kanwar. Despite the intervention of the police, the s beat anangry mob did not stop.

Following this, the e-rickshaw driver was transported to the hospital where he was getting treated and lost his life in Muzaffarnagar district yesterday according to the sources on social media. 

Another similar incident came to light from Haryana’s Fatehabad, where some unidentified Kanwariyas pelted stones on a school bus. According to the sources, several school students were on the bus when the incident happened after the bus hit the one of the Kanwars passing by. 

As per sources, the people involved in the stone pelting were associated with Bajrang Dal. Ranjeet Singh, Station in-charge of Ratia said that soon after getting the information, the police registered a case against the two main accused. The accused were identified as Vicky and Sanju and around 40 unknown persons were Kanwariyas.
