New Delhi: Serious accusations have emerged against the Roorkee police in connection with the death of 22-year-old gym trainer Waseem, who was allegedly shot and thrown into a pond. According to his family, Waseem had been returning from his sisters home after dinner in the Madhopur area, which falls under the Ganganahar police station jurisdiction.Reports claim that a Cow Protection Squad team intercepted Waseem, shot him, brutally beat him, and then tossed him into a nearby pond. Allegedly, the officers stood around the pond, brandishing firearms, warning Waseem that they would shoot if he attempted to climb out. When local villagers tried to intervene and save him, the police reportedly threatened them with violence, driving them away. Unable to escape, Waseem ultimately drowned in the pond.Video of the aftermath, confrontation surfaceIn response, CO Roorkee Narendra Pant offered a different account, stating that the Cow Protection Squad had been attempting to apprehend a scooter rider suspected of transporting beef. We are demanding that the administration file a case against the accused police personnel, conduct a post-mortem of the boy, and take action based on the findings.
