The polygraph test, intended to determine the truthfulness of the accuseds statements during interrogation, is pending further procedural approvals. Roy was arrested just six hours after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, and he has remained in police custody since then.CBI team visits RG Kar HospitalThe CBIs investigation has intensified, with a female officer leading the probe. A team from the CBI recently revisited RG Kar Medical College, focusing on the top floor of the emergency ward. Investigators are examining whether there was a possible escape route from the roof after the crime was committed. The team also inspected other key locations, including the trauma center, operation theater, digital X-ray, and MRI buildings, to trace the accuseds movements on the day of the incident.Bengal Governor to consult President, Union MinistersIn related news, Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu today to discuss the law and order situation in West Bengal. He is expected to seek guidance on restoring safety and dignity for women in the state. The governor will also likely meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister J P Nadda.Former principal questioned by CBIThe former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh, was questioned by CBI officers for the fourth consecutive day on Monday. The inquiry focused on the delay in informing the victims parents and the reasons behind the renovation of rooms near the seminar hall after the incident. Ghosh, who resigned two days after the crime citing safety concerns, has sought court protection.Union health ministrys responseIn response to the incident, the Union Health Ministry has implemented several measures to enhance security in central hospitals across the country, including a 25% increase in security personnel, improved CCTV coverage, and additional lighting. States have been advised to enhance the safety of healthcare workers, and instructions have been issued to file an FIR within six hours of such incidents. Despite these measures, a meeting between doctors and the Union Health Ministry on Monday ended inconclusively, with the doctors strike continuing.
