After tracing the culprit, the police recovered a cash of Rs 3 lakh, a raincoat, a green bike, shoes, and a gun from the accused's house.

Preliminary Investigation Reveals

According to the preliminary investigation, the accused left the scene at 4:41 PM on July 16, according to Indore police. Before heading out once more, he gave his wife and daughter the pilfered money. The suspect is the only one suspected of carrying out the heist.

The incident happened on Tuesday night at PNB's Scheme Number 54 branch. The attacker entered the bank while wearing a raincoat and a mask, then fired a warning shot with a 315-bore rifle. Before leaving the area, he made a female cashier fill a bag with cash.

Indore Police During Press Conference

Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta during a press conference on Wednesday informed that the police had identified the robber as former soldier Arun Kumar Singh. Singh was a member of the army from 1999 until 2006 when he was released on medical and alcohol-related grounds. After being released, he started working as a security guard.

Before this, Arun Kumar Singh had experience in banking operations from his time working at the Bank of India's Palasia branch. He had been employed as a security guard at Gold Mine Jewelers for the last 15 months, which is close to the PNB branch he robbed. His crime was made easier by his knowledge of the region and the fact that there was no security guard at the bank.
