New Delhi: On Friday, a portion of a building collapsed in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area, raising concerns that several individuals might be trapped under the debris. The incident has prompted a swift response from emergency services and rescue teams.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Chief Atul Garg reported that four people, including a woman, have been rescued and transported to the hospital. "The search operation for others is underway," Garg stated, indicating that efforts are ongoing to locate and save any additional individuals who may be trapped.

Emergency response

The DFS received an emergency call at 12:51 PM, prompting the dispatch of five fire tenders to the collapse site. Local police and other rescue teams were also mobilized to assist with the efforts. The collaborative rescue operation is currently in progress, as officials strive to ensure the safety of those affected by the collapse.
