As the countdown for the Indias 75th Republic Day has already begun, the Delhi Police on Wednesday has issued traffic guidelines for the routes to be avoided in Delhi as the preparations for the Republic Day parade are underway. According to the sources, the rehearsals that are scheduled for four days will take place on Kartavya Path, with a break on Friday. Residents of Delhi need to get prepared for temporary adjustments in the citys traffic flow as Republic Day celebrations. People are also requested to plan their journey in advance to avoid inconvenience.Keeping the security of people in mind, the Delhi Police has organised for the spot checking and dense areas are being monitored by drone cameras to curb any suspicious activities.Airspace curbsNot only roads, there will be some airspace restrictions too. The same will be applicable in the national capital for 11 days for Republic Day preparations and celebrations. The curbs will take place from January 19 to 25 as well as on January 26 and 29.Landing or take-off of non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines, and chartered flights will not be permitted from 10 am to 1.15 pm during the January 19-25 period and as per notice to airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Airport Authorities of India (AAI), these restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 9 pm on January 26 to 29.However, these restrictions will not be applicable on IAF, BSF, Army Aviation helicopters.It is to be noted here that India will be celebrating its 75th Republic Day, this year. The 2024 Republic Day theme is India - Mother of Democracy and Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
