This is proof of how much scope India has for live concerts,” he stated.

Infrastructure and Skills Development Needed

PM Modi urged both state and private sectors to enhance infrastructure and skills to fully leverage India's concert economy. He pointed out that attracting global artists can significantly boost tourism and create substantial employment opportunities. “Big artists from around the world are also being attracted towards India. Concert economy boosts tourism and creates large-scale employment. I urge states and the private sector to focus on the necessary infrastructure for the concert economy,” he added.

Emerging Opportunities in Event Management

The Prime Minister noted that various sectors related to live events, such as event management, artist grooming, and security, are witnessing new possibilities. This growth presents a unique opportunity for innovation and investment in these areas.

Coldplay's Record-Breaking Concerts

The British band Coldplay recently made headlines by performing five concerts in India, setting a new record with their final concert in Ahmedabad, which attracted a staggering 134,000 attendees. This achievement surpassed the previous record by over 60,000 attendees, marking it as the largest ticketed concert in India to date.

Upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit

In addition to promoting live concerts, PM Modi highlighted the forthcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) scheduled for next month in India. He expressed optimism about its potential to showcase India's creative capabilities on a global stage. “Next month, India will host the first-ever World Audio Visual Summit, or WAVES. It will be a major event, showcasing India's creative power to the world,” he remarked.

With the concert economy poised for significant growth, PM Modi's call to action serves as a pivotal moment for stakeholders across sectors to invest in infrastructure and skills development. This initiative not only promises economic benefits but also positions India as a key player in the global entertainment landscape.
