New Delhi: In a chilling turn of events, a minor girl has been kidnapped and subjected to rape over a period of five days by Sajid Pasha and Mudassir. Pasha, the director of the Green City Hospital in Rampur, and his accomplice allegedly targeted the girl in a horrifying crime that spanned multiple locations in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

When did it happen?

On August 31, 2024, Sajid Pasha lured the minor, an 11th-grade student, under the guise of a coaching class. Pasha promised that other students would join them shortly and then proceeded to abduct the girl, taking her in his Thar vehicle. He initially held her at a resort in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, where she was raped for three days.

As the days passed, Pasha and Mudassir continually moved their victim between Haldwani and Rudrapur, where the abuse persisted. The duo used false identities and even a fake police ID to avoid detection.

Police intervention and rescue

The girl's family, alarmed by her prolonged absence, reported her kidnapping to the police. Following a detailed investigation, authorities managed to trace the suspects’ movements. On September 5, police successfully rescued the minor from a Thar vehicle in Rampur. Mudassir was arrested on the spot, while Sajid Pasha managed to escape and is currently on the run.

In response to Pasha’s evasion, the police have sealed Green City Hospital and offered a reward of ₹25,000 for information leading to his arrest. The search for Pasha has intensified, with the authorities employing various strategies to locate him.

Victim's account

After her rescue, the minor girl described her harrowing experience to the police. Her father has appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for stringent action against the fugitive Sajid Pasha. The family has also accused Pasha of being involved in criminal activities, including mining, and maintaining a heavily armed private security detail. Additionally, Pasha’s personal life, including his two marriages and political connections, has attracted significant attention.

Pasha had previously identified himself as a supporter of the Congress party on social media, which has further fueled public outrage. The police’s sealing of his hospital and ongoing efforts to capture him underscore the seriousness of the case.

Here's what police say:

Ongoing investigation

Rampur Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra has confirmed that Mudassir is in custody and that the search for Sajid Pasha is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
