The tour of Ayodhya featuring the new idol of Ram Lalla that was scheduled for January 17 has been cancelled by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. According to the Temple Trust, the purpose of the excursion was to give followers a sneak peek at the recently unveiled statue of Ram Lalla before the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.
According to a senior official of the trust, the trust will now plan a tour of the new idol within the Ram Janmabhoomi premises on the same day, i.e. January 17.
The temple trust has taken the decision keeping the issues in the mind of crowd control management that has brought up by security agencies.
The Ayodhya district administration claims that during the discussion, it was discussed that it would be challenging to manage the crowd since pilgrims and devotees would swarm to get a glimpse (darshan) of the new idol of Ram Lalla when it is brought into the city.
In the meantime, the city is prepared for the Pran Pratistha ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the historic event in Ayodhya on January 22. Numerous chief ministers from states administered by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), well-known personalities, other VIPs, and over 6,000 attendees are expected to attend the Ayodhya ceremony.
The temple town will start performing Vedic ceremonies one week prior to the ceremony, on January 16. Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a priest from Varanasi, will perform the main rituals of the ceremony.
Ahead of the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, live telecast will be done across the nation by national broadcaster Doordarshan.
In a video message posted on 'X', secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Champat Rai said, "As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished, I appeal to all the Indians, Ram Bhakts and people belonging to the Hindu community to run a cleanliness movement across temples from Makar Sankranti to Pran Pratishtha Day. Cleanliness is adored by God. I also appeal to the temple authorities to gather the locals at the respective temples at 10 a.m. on January 22, perform Bhajans and celebrate the day."
