The official announcement was made by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh. "BJP National President JP Nadda has appointed Ram Madhav, former National General Secretary, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy as election in-charges for the upcoming assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir," the statement read.
Ram Madhav, who served as BJP National General Secretary from 2014 to 2020, played a pivotal role in managing the party's political strategies in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, and other Northeastern states during his tenure. His reappointment reflects the party's confidence in his ability to navigate the complexities of the region's political landscape. In 2020, Madhav was replaced during a reshuffle aimed at bringing fresh faces into the BJP's leadership team.
