The soil excavated during foundation work at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya will be presented to guests attending the January 22 consecration ceremony, the temple trust announced on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be present for the event, will receive a 15-metre portrait of the Ram Mandir packed in a jute bag also containing a photo of the temple, according to a member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Theerth Kshetra Trust.

Over 11,000 invited guests will receive memorable gifts, the trust member said.

Along with the sacred soil from the Ram Janmabhoomi, guests will get 100 grams of special motichoor laddoos made with desi ghee as prasad, he added.

The gifts will include two boxes - one with the laddoos and a tulsi leaf, the other containing soil recovered during excavations of the site.

"The gift boxes will also contain water from the Saryu river packed in a bottle and religious texts from the Gita Press of Gorakhpur," the member stated.

"The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has intensified preparations to welcome distinguished guests for the ceremony," he said.
