Rahul Gandhi has reached the last leg of his tour to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He rode over 240 km on his bike to Kargil post the revocation of the provisions of Article 370 of the former state after extending his visit.
He assured the youth that he and his party would stand with them to become their voice in Parliament and also comforted the youth telling them that justice will be provided.
The former Congress president reached Kargil on Thursday while riding on his KTM 390 Adventure bike. He reached there ahead of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil (LAHDC-K) elections.
The people of Ladakh have been demanding statehood and protection under sixth schedule of the Indian Constitutionand a Lok Sabha seat each for Leh and Kargil districts respectively.
It was around 4 pm when Gandhi reached Kargil and was greeted by over 350 attendees cheering for him according to Kargil’s Congress president Nasir Munshi. “Rahul Gandhi reached Kargil from Zanskar on his motorcycle around 4 pm where he addressed a youth convention of over 350 euphoric attendees cheering for him,” he said.
Munshi said the workers, leaders, and voters along with Congress and National Conference supporters will assemble at the stadium to listen to the Congress president address the rally on Friday.

Rahul Gandhi mentioned that this trip to Ladakh is a continuation of his Bharat Jodo Yatra from January and is a part of his “Mohabbat ka safar (journey of love).” He mentioned that he had wanted to visit Ladakh during the Bharat Jodo Yatra only however, had to plan out differently due to logistical reasons.
The party has been active in updating Rahul’s journey through Ladkah on social media. They shared pictures of Rahul being mobbed by people, cradling children, visiting the market, blowing kisses, and generally having “fun” while also letting the people know about his work there.
Gandhi also shared several pictures about his journey from Zanskar to Kargil including the one with a group of security personnel on the foothills of a mountain with a captain “On our frontiers stand the brave children of Bharat Mata – ready to take on any challenge for her sake.
The former president of Congress went around almost all famous places including Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Khardungla Top, Lamayuru, and Zanskar on the motorcycle during his trip to Ladakh.
Rahul started on August 17 initially for two days. His extended trip has been termed as an extension of Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir from September 7, 2022, to January 30, 2023, by Congress.
