Rahul Gandhi slams media: In a scathing critique of media priorities, Rahul Gandhi expressed disappointment over the lack of extensive coverage on the suspension of MPs, accusing the media of fixating on the mimicry incident instead. The Congress leader highlighted the pain of the suspended MPs and lamented the absence of discussions on crucial issues like Adani, Rafale, and unemployment.

Media's Singular Focus

Addressing reporters in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi asserted, "Our MPs are disheartened and sitting outside. Please show their side also. What can we do if you are totally running on one line?" He criticised the media for sidelining the suspension of 150 MPs while magnifying the mimicry incident.

Controversial Mimicry Incident

The controversy unfolded when Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, among the suspended MPs, was seen mimicking Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during a protest at Parliament's Makar Dwar. Rahul Gandhi was spotted filming the incident on his phone.

Prime Minister Modi Expresses Anguish

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Vice President Dhankhar to express his dismay over the incident, condemning the theatrics within the 'sacred' Parliament complex. Dhankhar responded by reaffirming his commitment to upholding constitutional values despite the insults.

Jairam Ramesh's Perspective

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh weighed in on the mimicry row, suggesting it was a deliberate diversion to shift public attention away from the suspension of 141 MPs. The suspension occurred due to disruptions and chaos during the Parliament proceedings regarding the security breach incident on December 13.

Rahul Gandhi's critique sheds light on the media's role in shaping public discourse amid the ongoing parliamentary turbulence.
