Hain Taiyaar Hum: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the 'Hain Taiyaar Hum' rally in Nagpur, highlighted the ongoing ideological conflict in the country. The rally, coinciding with the party's 139th foundation day, served as a platform for Gandhi to address the core battle of ideas shaping the political landscape.
Gandhi stressed the essence of the current political struggle, stating, "There is a fight of ideologies going on in the country. People think that it is a political fight, a fight for power, it is, but the foundation of this fight is of ideology, of two opposing ideologies."
Sharing insights from a conversation with a BJP leader who expressed discontent, Gandhi revealed, "A few days ago, I met a BJP MP in the Lok Sabha. Many BJP MPs were earlier in Congress. I met him secretly, and he said, 'Rahul ji, I can't bear being in BJP. I am in BJP, but my heart is in Congress.' He mentioned that 'ghulami' (slavery) continues in the BJP."
The Congress leader further elaborated on the BJP leader's perspective, stating, "He said Rahul ji, whatever directions are received from the authorities above have to be done without thinking twice. No one listens to us; orders come from above. It is just like how kings used to give orders earlier, and everyone had to follow it. There is no choice whether you like it or not."
Highlighting the difference in approach, Gandhi emphasised the democratic nature of the Congress, where "the voice comes from below." He stated, "In Congress, the voice comes from below; our small workers can point out the big leaders. I listen to our workers and also respect their voice (concerns)."
Gandhi also touched upon the dismissal of the PCC President Nana Patole, stating, "Our PCC President Nana Patole had asked a question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about farmers, asking what will be the share of farmers in GST. Modiji did not like this question, and Patoleji was out."
The 'Hain Taiyaar Hum' rally signifies the Congress party's commitment to its foundational principles and serves as a platform to address the ideological fabric of the nation.
