Raghav Chadha moves SC challenging his suspension from Rajya Sabha

Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha on Tuesday moved Supreme Court challenging his suspension from Rajya Sabha. Chadha got suspended from the Rajya Sabha on August 11 for “breach of privilege” after complaints from four MPs.

The suspension of Raghav Chadha came in response to complaints submitted by four MPs – Sambit Patra, S Phangnon Konyak, M Thambidurai and Narhari Amin, who accused him of including their names in a motion without their consent. The complaint was lodged before Jagdeep Dhankar, the Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman.

During the day, Chadha also moved Delhi High Court challenging a trial court’s decision to vacate the Type VII bungalow allotted to him.

In addition to this, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Raghav Chadha made a sharp attack on BJP saying, “In BJP-ruled states agencies are silent and in non-BJP ruled states agencies are violent. From 2004 to 2014, when there was UPA Govt in power, ED raided only 112 locations. But from 2014 to 2023, ED raided 3100 locations. 95% of the cases registered by CBI and ED are against politicians of the Opposition…They have a special love for AAP, they have jailed several of our leaders in false cases…This will be done by only those people who are scared of INDIA alliance…”
