Senior AAP leader and Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha on Monday slammed the BJP-led Central government for introducing the impeding bill replacing the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in Delhi and termed it “undemocratic.”

Chadha alleged that the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill that is likely to be tabled in Parliament this week is a plot by BJP to destroy the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been seeking opposition against the Ordinance. However, the members of the INDIA alliance have assured that they will oppose the Bill in Parliament even after the government has expressed confidence in getting the bill passed.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued a three-line whip to all its MPs to be present in the Rajya Sabha till August 4 for the discussion of the bill.

It is to be noted here that the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill aims to replace the ordinance that was brought in May this year by the Centre after the Supreme Court handed over the control of services in the national capital to the Delhi government, except those relating to public order, land, and police.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha said, “This ordinance that will be introduced in the Parliament today is undemocratic. This is not just against the Constitution of the country but also against the 2-crore people in Delhi. BJP has understood that are finished in Delhi so their high command has taken this decision to destroy the Delhi govt”

“Parliamentary rules say that when a No-Confidence Motion has been admitted by Lok Sabha Speaker, all other business and transaction activities are suspended. But for the first time, the government is introducing and passing bills. I think there is question on the constitutionality of the bills which were passed after the admission of No-Confidence Motion,” Chadha added.

Apart from this, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, while talking about the two-day visit of INDIA alliance MPs to Manipur, said, “The I.N.D.I.A alliance has come after wiping off the tears of the people of Manipur…Today, the MPs of the I.N.D.I.A bloc has been called for the meeting and they will explain the situation in Manipur. After the meeting, we inform you about our next move in regard to Manipur…”
