In a significant development, the Punjab Police have arrested Vishal Masih, the second suspect involved in the recent Chandigarh grenade attack. Vishal, a resident of Raimal village in Gurdaspur’s Batala, was apprehended in Delhi, according to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. This comes just days after the arrest of the main accused, Rohan Masih, on September 13.
The grenade blast occurred on September 11 in Sector 10 of Chandigarh, when two suspects in an auto-rickshaw hurled an explosive at a house in the upscale area. Following intense investigations, police managed to arrest Rohan, the primary suspect, shortly after the incident. Within 72 hours of the attack, the Punjab Police, in collaboration with central agencies, successfully nabbed Vishal, the second key perpetrator.

DGP Yadav shared the update on social media platform X, stating, “Following leads from various sources, the Punjab Police, with the help of central agencies, arrested Vishal Masih from Delhi.” Yadav further added that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
The blast is believed to have been orchestrated by Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda, who has connections with Pakistan’s ISI, and US-based gangster Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia. According to police reports, Rohan admitted to being involved in the grenade attack and revealed that he was acting on Passia’s orders. Passia allegedly provided the hand grenade and weapons through his network, while also facilitating financial and logistical support.
