Punjab petrol pump blast: A petrol pump owner in Mansa district experienced a terrifying ordeal after an explosion erupted near his establishment last night, followed by a threatening message demanding Rs 5 crore to prevent further attacks.
The incident began around 1 a.m. on Mansa Road when a bomb was reportedly hurled near the petrol station, causing a loud blast that sent shockwaves through the area. The petrol pump owner, Khushwinder Singh, later received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number, which he missed. Moments later, a message arrived from the same contact, taking responsibility for the explosion and demanding Rs 5 crore. The message warned that the explosion was “just a trailer,” threatening to attack Singh’s house and harm his family members if the ransom was not paid.
Khushwinder Singh immediately lodged a police complaint, detailing how his petrol pump attendant, Gurpreet Singh, witnessed an individual throwing an explosive device near a drain by the station, which then detonated. Following the complaint, police have launched a full-scale investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and analyzing the WhatsApp message. A case has been registered against unidentified individuals, and authorities are working to trace the caller.
