Punjab CM's Bhagwant Singh Mann pledges Rs 1 crore financial aid for martyr families

In a landmark decision to honor the sacrifices of India’s brave soldiers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has introduced a financial assistance scheme for the families of martyrs. The announcement underscores the Mann government’s dedication to recognizing and supporting those who have given their lives in service to the nation.

₹1 Crore for Families of Fallen Heroes

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized the state’s responsibility to care for the families of soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. In a heartfelt post on X, he stated, “Our brave sons of Punjab sacrifice their lives to protect the country and Punjab and maintain peace. It is the responsibility of society to take care of them and their families.” The Punjab Cabinet has committed to providing ₹1 crore in financial aid to the family of each martyred soldier, reinforcing the government’s pledge to their welfare.

Increased Rewards for Gallantry

In addition to the aid for martyrs’ families, the Mann government has enhanced the prize money for soldiers awarded for their valor by 40%. This increase reflects the administration’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the courage of Punjab’s armed forces, further solidifying the state’s appreciation for its heroes.

Support for Families Beyond the Battlefield

The government’s initiative extends beyond soldiers martyred in war zones. CM Mann recently provided ₹1 crore in financial assistance and a government job to the younger sister of Shubhkaran Singh, a farmer who lost his life during the farmers’ movement at the Khanauri border. He assured that legal action would be taken against those responsible for Singh’s untimely demise, demonstrating the state’s dedication to justice and family support.

A Broader Initiative of Gratitude

These measures are part of a larger initiative by the Mann government to ensure that sacrifices made by soldiers and their families are recognized and respected. By providing financial aid and increasing awards, the Punjab government is creating a support system that highlights the importance of their service and dedication to the nation.
