Two officials from the Yerawada police station were suspended on Friday due to alleged dereliction of duty in relation to an accident involving a 17-year-old juvenile whose Porshe fatally struck two individuals in the early hours of May 19. These are the same two officers who reached the spot immediately after the incident, but did not inform the seniors and the control room about the matter.

What's their biggest negligence?

The biggest negligence of the police was revealed in the Pune Porsche incident of Maharashtra. After the incident of crushing two people by a Porsche car, two officers of Yerwada police station had reached the spot, but they did not inform the control room. It was already being said that action would be taken against these two officers in this case. It is being said that during this time DCP Gill of Zone-1 was also on night round.

Rejected all allegations

Earlier, in a press conference, Pune SP had clearly said on the claims of the father of the minor accused that it is clear from the CCTV footage that the minor accused had taken the car out of his house. Along with this, he also rejected the allegations that the minor was given pizza and burgers to eat while in custody after the incident. The police had said that efforts were made to show that the minor was not driving the car at the time of the incident. Someone else was driving in his place. We are going to add section 201 in the FIR to destroy evidence on the driver. We will also find out whether the driver gave the statement under any pressure.

What's full matter

This incident of hit and run took place on 19th May. In Pune's Kalyani Nagar area, the 17-year-old son of real estate developer Vishal Aggarwal had crushed two bike-riding engineers with his sports car Porsche, killing both of them. 14 hours after this incident, the accused minor got bail from the court with some conditions. The court had directed him to work with the traffic police for 15 days and write an essay of 300 words on the effects and solutions of road accidents. However, police investigation revealed that the accused was under the influence of alcohol and was driving the car at very high speed. At present the minor is in a reform home.

Police action in this matter

In this case, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that the minor accused should be tried like an adult. For this the police has sought permission from the higher court. This statement of the Police Commissioner came amid anger over the granting of bail to the accused minor. He said that a case has been registered against the accused under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 304A (causing death by negligence) and sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
