It will be cancelled for six months if it happens for the second time. Upon the third offence, the licence of the driver will be cancelled permanently. Notably, the move was taken by the Pune Police after it booked 1,684 drunken driving cases, in the past six months. The most devastating incident was the one that happened on May 19, when a 17-year-old teen mowed down two engineers - Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta with a speeding Porsche car in Pune. The incident initiated outrage among people when the accused teen got bail from the Juvenile Justice Board within hours of committing a crime.
