New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Hingangaon, Pune, a drunk driver unleashed chaos at Hotel Gokul after being denied food late on Friday night. Enraged by the hotel owner's refusal to serve him, the driver resorted to violence, ramming his truck into the hotel and causing significant damage to the property and nearby vehicles.
A video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the driver repeatedly crashing his truck into the hotel’s structure. Despite the efforts of locals, who tried to intervene by hurling stones at the vehicle, the driver continued his reckless rampage. The footage also reveals the driver colliding with a parked car outside the hotel, further escalating the chaos. The destruction only came to a halt when the truck became stuck, immobilizing the vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene expressed shock and frustration as they attempted to stop the driver from causing further damage. Several locals gathered around the area, using stones and other makeshift tools to try and block the truck’s path, but their efforts were largely in vain as the driver continued to ram into the hotel.
Following the incident, police arrived at the scene and swiftly arrested the driver. An investigation has been launched to determine the full extent of the driver’s actions and the circumstances leading up to the rampage. No casualties have been reported, but the damage to the hotel and surrounding vehicles is extensive. The viral video of the event has sparked outrage, with many calling for stricter enforcement of drunk driving laws in the region.
In unrelated news, Pune has seen a surge in online share trading frauds between April and August this year. Victims have lost a combined total of Rs 50 lakh in various scams, with incidents reported at Kondhwa, Cantonment, and Bharati Vidyapeeth police stations. All cases remain under investigation.
