New Delhi: A deeply shocking incident has recently come to light from Pune, Maharashtra, where it is alleged that a brother has committed a horrific murder of his own sister. The disturbing details of this case reveal that the brother, with the help of his wife, brutally took his sister's life due to a dispute over property.

Details of the incident

On August 26, the situation unfolded when Ashfaq and his wife, Humida, killed his sister, Sakina Khan, due to a disagreement over the ownership of a makeshift house. According to reports, Ashfaq and Humida visited Sakina's residence and, following a heated argument about the property, Ashfaq strangled Sakina to death with Humida's help.

In a disturbing act of violence, Ashfaq dismembered Sakina’s body by severing her head, arms and legs. To destroy the evidence, they discarded the body parts into the swollen Mutha River. While the river’s strong currents carried most of the body away, Sakina’s torso was found washed up on the riverbank. The discovery led to a police investigation, which revealed the grim details of the murder.

Police confirm identity and launch search for missing body parts

The murder's discovery began when police received a missing person’s report about Sakina. On the same day, they found a woman's torso near the Mutha River, with her limbs severed. After identifying the body as Sakina Khan, the police launched an investigation. Despite efforts to find the rest of the body, the river’s swift currents prevented them from recovering the remaining parts.

The Chandan Nagar police station registered a case against unknown perpetrators. Given the brutality of the crime, investigators suspected that personal grudges and close acquaintances might be involved.

Brother describes ongoing property dispute as motive

During the investigation, Ashfaq and Humida’s involvement came to light following their confession. They were initially questioned about a property dispute, and under interrogation, Humida admitted to their crime. Ashfaq subsequently confessed as well, revealing the gruesome details of the murder.

Ashfaq explained that the property dispute had been ongoing, with Sakina consistently refusing to transfer the ownership of the makeshift house to him. On the day of the murder, heavy rain was falling in Pune, and Sakina was alone at her home. Ashfaq and Humida arrived at her house, where Sakina offered them tea and engaged in a conversation that quickly escalated into a dispute over the property.

Sister's body thrown into river

After Sakina refused to hand over the property, Ashfaq’s anger led him to commit the murder. With Humida’s help, he strangled Sakina and then dismembered her body. The severed parts were placed in plastic bags and thrown into the raging Mutha River. Due to the river’s high water level, the body parts were scattered, with only the torso washing up on the riverbank. Some local workers noticed the torso and alerted the police, leading to the crime’s revelation.
