Property dealer shot dead in broad daylight in Delhi (File )
Delhi: The incident took place in Delhi's Paschim Vihar area on Friday morning. A young man riding in a Fortuner car was shot dead by unidentified assailants. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Dalal, 30, who was a property dealer by profession and used to leave his vehicle to go to the gym every morning. According to the police, the attackers were already ambushed. As Rajkumar left the house in his car, the assailants fired 8 to 10 rounds at him. Rajkumar, who was seriously injured in the shooting, was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
This heart-wrenching incident spread panic in the Paschim Vihar area. As soon as the sounds of firing were heard, people panicked and immediately informed the police. Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area and a forensic team was called. Footage of nearby CCTV cameras is being scanned to identify the attackers.
Rajkumar's family members said he had no quarrel or enmity with anyone. He went out to the gym like every day. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. The police are investigating the case from every angle, including a property dispute, personal enmity and the possibility of gangster connections.
Police officials said the matter has been taken seriously and several teams have been pressed into investigation. Soon the accused will be identified and arrested. At present, the body has been sent for postmortem and further action is being taken. This incident has once again raised questions on the law and order of Delhi, where killing someone by firing bullets in broad daylight is now becoming commonplace.
