Amid rising Covid cases across the country, including the national capital of India, experts have advised the people to take all the necessary precautions and not to ignore the symptoms, as the prevailing weather is favourable for the spread of the virus. Over the past several days, Covid cases have been sharply increasing, with roughly 3,000 cases being recorded daily nationwide. The number of cases in the nation’s capital has also sharply increased, with over 400 infections estimated to occur daily.

Among several hospitals, with BLK Hospital has reported a surge in the number of patients reporting symptoms of fever, cough, and cold. The number of hospitalisation has also gone up in the past few days in the national capital. The director and HOD of the Chest and Respiratory departments of BLK Hospital told the media that the daily count of cases is rising on daily basis. He said that most people are getting recovered staying at home only. he also added that since it is the onset of the pandemic, most people have also been taking online medical consultations. The expert further added that we are getting them tested for Covid-19, who is coming with the symptoms of cold, cough and fever. Those found infected are advised to immediate home isolation. However, patients with serious symptoms are required to be admitted to the hospital. He also said that people who are suffering from lung ailments and cancer are at a greater risk of catching Covid. If they are infected then they need to be hospitalised.

The experts have advised people not to ignore the symptoms, as the prevailing weather is favourable for the spread of any virus or infection among the people.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has also advised the people to be more cautious as the weather conditions are changing every few days and the prevailing conditions are supporting the spread of Covid or Omicron virus. However, Mandaviya added that there is no need to hospitalise the patients as the majority are being advised to be isolated at home.

Experts are anticipating that another reason for the rise in cases could be that people have stopped wearing masks in the past few months, which is why there is an increase in cases. They have advised people of all ages to wear masks in public places. He stressed that people need to adopt and follow Covid-appropriate behaviour, in a bid to say goodbye to Covid Sub-variant.

Doctors suggest, “if symptoms like cough, fever, or cold persist, do not ignore them and see a doctor at the earliest. This infection first affects our lungs when it enters our body through the mouth and nose. That’s why, if you have a cough for a long time, do not ignore it. Consult a doctor at the earliest.”

Mask mandatory in Maharashtra

In a view of rising Covid cases, in Maharashtra, the Satara district administration has made the wearing of masks compulsory for government, semi-government officials, colleges and banks. Satara Collector Ruchesh Jaivanshi issued the order on Monday and has also appealed to local people to maintain social distancing, and hand hygiene at crowded places. He also asked people to wear a mask while visiting any public place.

In the wake of the rise in Covid and other influenza cases, all the health administrations in Maharashtra have been directed to take all the necessary precautions to stop the spread of the virus.

India’s Covid cases update

On Monday, India saw an increase of 3,641 new cases of the Coronavirus in a single day, bringing the total number of active cases to 20,219. Data from the Union Health Ministry says that the death toll has increased with 11 fatalities reported in 24 hours, including three deaths from Maharashtra and one each from Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. According to the report, the death toll also includes four deaths that Kerala reconciled.
