President Droupadi Murmu is all set to embark on her visit to Gujarat from September 12 to September 13, according to a government release. According to the release, President Murmu will land in the states Gandhinagar this evening (Tuesday).President Murmu to visit Gujarat this eveningDuring her visit, she will inaugurate the project National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) and address the members of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly at Gandhinagar.Basically, the NeVA project, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modis visionary concept of One Nation, One Application, is a significant step towards making the Assembly proceedings entirely paperless.NeVA project – A part of Digital India ProgrammeThis project is one of the 44 Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) under the central governments Digital India Programme, which aims to make the functioning of all the State Legislatures paperless by transforming them into Digital House.21 State legislatures have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the NeVA and the project has been signed for 17 Legislatures and funds have been released to them for implementation of the project.Among them, nine Legislatures have already become fully digital and are live on the NeVA platform. They are conducting all their business end to end in a digital and paperless manner.On the same day, she will also launch the Ayushman Bhav initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, from the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, virtually, the release added.President to inaugurate 1st Global Symposium on Farmers Rights today in DelhiMeanwhile, in the national capital today, President Murmu will inaugurate the first Global Symposium on Farmers Rights (GSFR) at the ICAR Convention Centre, National Agricultural Science Centre Complex.This is the first time that India is hosting a Symposium on Farmers Rights from September 12 to 15.Official statementsSpeaking to the media, PPVFR Authority Chairperson T Mohapatra said that India has been the first country in the world to include Farmers Rights in the context of Plant Variety Registration through its Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights (PPVFR) Act, 2001.Several scientists are set to participate from 59 countries across the world to deliberate during the sessions on how to recognize and reward the enormous contribution that local and indigenous communities and farmers of all regions of the world have made to the conservation and development of plant genetic resources (PGR), the chairperson said.Further, he stressed that food systems across the world depend on seeds.
