President Droupadi Murmu will travel to Odisha for a three-day visit on Tuesday, an official statement from the President’s Secretariat said. The President is scheduled to attend several programs during her three-day visit, including attending the 10th convocation of the National Law University in Cuttack.

“The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha from July 25 to 27, 2023,” the statement released on Monday read.

Keeping in view the President’s impending visit, the Commissionerate Police has arranged a stringent security arrangement across the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, where the President is scheduled to travel. The final rehearsal for the President’s carcade was supervised by the police authorities on Monday from the Biju Patnaik International Airport to the Raj Bhawan.

Prez Droupadi Murmu to visit Raj Bhavan, National Law Uni in Odisha visit

The President will reach Bhubaneshwar on July 25, where she will begin her visit by interacting with a group of medical students. Then she will lay the foundation stone for a new building block of the state’s Raj Bhavan on Tuesday evening.

“[President Droupadi] Murmu will visit Odisha from July 25 to 27. She begins her visit with an interaction with a group of medical students sponsored by [the] ATUT-BANDHAN family and [will] lay the foundation stone for a new building block of the Raj Bhavan, Odisha, in Bhubaneswar,” a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said.

On July 26, the President will attend several events at Cuttack, including addressing the valedictory function of 75th-year celebrations of the High Court of Orissa, addressing the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital, and attending the convocation of the National Law University, Odisha, the spokesperson said in the official statement.

“We are happy to announce that we are celebrating the 10th batch of passing out of our students. We are happy that the President of India has agreed to be a part of the convocation,” Vice-Chancellor of the National Law University, Professor Ved Kumari said on Sunday.

The President, on the next day, will interact with the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) at Raj Bhawan in Odisha.

“On July 27, 2023, the President will interact with the members of PVTGs at Raj Bhavan Odisha. On the same day, she will launch this year’s theme of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya ‘The Year of Positive Change’ for conducting nationwide seminar and conferences and lay the foundation stone for its ‘Lighthouse Complex’ at Dasabatia, Tamando, Bhubaneswar,” the statement read.
