A pre-New Year's Eve rave party pulsating with illicit activities was abruptly busted by the Thane Police in a raid early Sunday morning. The clandestine gathering was held on a private plot on Ghodbunder Road near the Kasarvadavali Police Station. At least 100 youths from Thane and surrounding areas were detained by authorities.

News agency IANS reported that the party, brimming with loud music, exuberant dancing, and the suspected flow of alcohol and drugs, was brought to a halt around 4 AM following a tip-off received by the police. Officers descended upon the scene, seizing liquor, drugs, narcotics, and other illegal substances. While it remains unclear whether any entry fees were charged, The party spot was close to the police establishments has raised questions about security lapses and vigilance.

Who is the mastermind of rave party?

The alleged mastermind behind the event believed to be a Thane resident, reportedly extended invitations and circulated location maps via social media platforms. This brazen disregard for regulations, particularly within the Chief Minister's own home district, drew sharp criticism from local social activist Dr Binu Varghese.

Dr. Varghese expressed shock and concern over the incident, highlighting the need for stricter surveillance and enforcement within a region entrusted with the Chief Minister's guardianship.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivraj Patil, along with his team from the local police and Crime Branch Units 2 and 5, spearheaded the successful raid. In the wake of this incident, the Thane Police have pledged to amplify their vigilance and security measures, not only within the district itself but also extending to major cities like Mumbai and Pune, as New Year's Eve festivities approach.
