New Delhi: A sex racket allegedly operating under the guise of spa centers in a prominent mall in Prayagraj was busted by the police, leading to the arrest of 20 people, including 13 women. Among those arrested were a female operator, two managers, and a woman of foreign origin.

The crackdown occurred after a tweet tagged to the Prayagraj Police on the social media platform ‘X’ (@NSUI_Shekhar) at around 3:30 PM, alleging that spa centers in the Civil Lines area were fronts for sex rackets. The tweet also mentioned the involvement of foreign women and included a video showing a confrontation between a man and several individuals, including a foreign woman.

Police officials take immediate action

Upon receiving the tip-off, authorities immediately took action. A raid was carried out later that evening at the P Square Mall, located near the Roadways bus stand. The scene quickly turned chaotic as the police raided four spa centers—Junction Spa Center, New Green Spa Center, Paradise Spa Center, and Waves Spa Center. While many managed to flee, 20 individuals were detained, including 13 women and girls, one of whom was of Nigerian descent.

According to the police, one of the arrested women identified herself as the operator of the spa center, while two men claimed to be managers. Evidence of illegal activities was discovered at the premises.

The revelation of this sex racket in Prayagraj has raised concerns about the illegal operations disguised as legitimate businesses in the area. The swift action by the police following the social media alert led to a significant breakthrough in curbing these illicit activities, with further investigations ongoing.
