UP Crime News: In a disturbing incident from Pratapgarh district, a 13-year-old boy who had gone to witness a Ganesh Puja celebration was brutally beaten on suspicion of theft. The boy was tied to a pole, assaulted, and thrown to the ground by a group of men. The incident occurred about 13 days ago, and police have since arrested five individuals involved: Shubham, Dheeraj, Anoop, Govinda, and Vijay.

The case has sparked outrage on social media, with users expressing anger over the increasing trend of public beatings. Videos of such incidents often go viral, further fueling public discontent.

Social media is outraged, video of the incident circulates

A social media user, Sachin, voiced his frustration, saying, "Now the police should tie them up and beat them too, so their obsession with becoming 'Justice Chaudhary' vanishes. It’s becoming a trend now—tying someone up, beating them, and making a video viral." His comments reflect the rising concerns over public vigilantism and the culture of making violence public through viral videos.

Another user, Dharam, condemned the act, writing, "These same people have been stealing electricity for five years, and now they beat up a 13-year-old child over suspicion of petty theft. How is this acceptable?" His remarks highlight the hypocrisy of the accused and question the moral grounds of their actions.

Many on social media have raised questions about the audacity of such criminals. Yadvendra, another concerned user, posted, "How do these goons become so arrogant? Don’t they fear the government, administration, or police? On whose strength do they commit such acts?" This sentiment underscores the public's frustration with the perceived lack of law enforcement in such cases.

Wasiuddin Siddiqui Official also weighed in, urging strict action, "Keep these hateful people in jail. If they come out, they will only spoil the atmosphere of society." His comment emphasizes the need for strong legal consequences to deter future crimes.

Police authorities are investigating the matter

The local police have swiftly acted by arresting the five men involved. Authorities are investigating whether the incident was premeditated or if the assault escalated due to a misunderstanding. However, the disturbing pattern of vigilante justice and the viral nature of such videos remains a growing concern in the region.
