Prashant Kishor to launch new political party JAN SURAAJ in Bihar on Gandhi Jayanti

New Delhi: Poll strategist Prashant Kishor has announced that he will officially launch his political party, Jan Suraaj, on October 2. He made this announcement during the Jan Suraaj campaign event at Bapu Sabhaghar in Patna. Kishor revealed that the foundation stone for the party would be laid on this occasion. The party aims to start with over one lakh people as its office bearers. 

Interestingly, Kishor stated that he would not be leading the Jan Suraaj party. Instead, the leaders would be chosen from among the party members.

Commitment to Bihar's future

Addressing the campaign members, Kishor said, "You’ve not aligned yourself with Jan Suraaj, its Padyatra, or its people. You’ve aligned yourself with those who agitated for a better alternative for Bihar and came together in the absence of a better alternative," 

Optimism for Bihar Assembly elections

Kishor confidently claimed that the Jan Suraaj party would secure victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, which is slated for 2025. He provided details of the leadership structure of the party, mentioning that a seven-member committee would oversee the elections for 25 top party posts from August 15 to August 20.

Who are the committee members?

The committee will include prominent individuals such as Dr. Bhupendra Yadav from Samastipur, RN Singh from Begusarai, retired IAS Suresh Sharma, advocate Ganesh Ram from Siwan, Dr. Naseem from East Champaran, retired IAS Arvind Singh from Bhojpur, and Swarnalata Sahni from Muzaffarpur. 

What are criteria for candidacy?

Kishor stated that the stringent criteria for candidates aspiring for the 25 top party posts. "One can contest only if the application has a list of 5,000 fresh members," he stated. He also emphasized the educational standards for candidates, ensuring that the party will have several graduates among its leaders if they decide to field only degree holders.
