The political landscape in Karnataka continues to be embroiled in turmoil as allegations of an obscene video scandal involving former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's grandson, Prajwal Revanna, unfold. The scandal, which has rocked Karnataka's political circles, centers around videos purportedly depicting sexual harassment and abuse of women by Prajwal Revanna.

Expected Return Amidst Controversy

Amidst the escalating controversy, reports are floating that Prajwal Revanna, the sitting MP and NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, is set to return to Bengaluru from Frankfurt on May 15. However, the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the matter, is yet to respond to his request for time to appear before them.

Mysterious Disappearance

In a twist to the saga, Karthik, Prajwal Revanna's former driver, who allegedly provided a pen drive containing the incriminating videos to BJP leader Devaraje Gowda, has gone missing following a notice from the SIT. Karthik, who had worked with Prajwal Revanna for 13 years, reportedly fell out with him over a land deal a year ago.

Political Finger-Pointing

The disappearance of Karthik has sparked a flurry of political accusations, with former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy insinuating the involvement of influential leaders. Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar refuted these claims, challenging Kumaraswamy to seek information from the central government instead. He dismissed allegations of his involvement in Karthik's disappearance, labeling them as politically motivated.

Calls for Accountability

As the controversy rages on, there are growing calls for accountability from various quarters. Leader of the Opposition, R Ashoka, demanded that the government step down if it fails to apprehend Prajwal Revanna. Deputy CM Shivakumar urged BJP leaders to meet the victims of the scandal and provide them with assurance and support.

Government Action

In response to the unfolding scandal, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke Prajwal Revanna's diplomatic passport. The JD(S) suspended Prajwal Revanna following the formation of the SIT by the Congress government to investigate the allegations against him.

Awaiting Truth

Amidst the mounting scrutiny, Prajwal Revanna broke his silence on the matter, expressing confidence that the truth would prevail. He communicated through his advocate to the CID, Bengaluru, seeking seven days to appear before the SIT for questioning.

As the controversy unfolds, all eyes are on the developments surrounding Prajwal Revanna's return and the ongoing investigation into the scandal, with stakeholders eagerly awaiting clarity and accountability in this unfolding saga.
